An E-harmony engagement and......a Pink Wedding Dress

Hello my faithful blog readers! =)  I've had some fun shoots this week. The newest engagement post that I have is of Stephanie and Scott. They are such a special couple! I've known Stephanie a long time and have prayed for her for many many years that God would bring her the RIGHT guy. Boy, did He answer all of the prayers. I was so pleased when she introduced me to Scott on Friday. Never have I seen Steph so relaxed and at peace with life!  They have both waited for God's best and He delivered!  They live in Pensacola, FL and met through E-harmony.com  In case you aren't famililar that is an online dating site.  The ironic thing is that they have lived 20 minutes from each other for several years but never had met until e-harmony. So, in case you are wondering, "are those commercials true?" YEP!  I'm betting that Scott and Stephanie are on one of their commercials one day.  I told them that I was going to email the site and send a picture of them.  Meantime you can enjoy their pics and see their true love in their engagement pictures on the left.

My second couple had a beautiful wedding today in Fort Wayne. It's amazing to learn peoples life stories along the way and this couple was no acception.  A year ago Jeff and Janna never dreamed that they would be married today.  Last year Jeff suffered a heart condition that required life saving surgery.  Little did they know they would be blessed with the surgery by the Larry King Cardiac Foundation.  www.lkcf.org  If it weren't for the generosity of Larry King and his foundation Jeff may not be alive today. Our local CBS affiliate WANE TV www.wane.com aired their story last Christmas and was even at the wedding today.  I just watched the coverage of it a few minutes ago while going through their pictures. I'll have their meet the newlywed album up for you asap.  By the way, this was a pink wedding! Janna loves pink, she had a pink dress, shoes, flowers.  Even her wedding album is going to be pink!! 

One more small detail about Jeff and Janna's wedding........ I've never seen a couple smash cake in each others faces like they did. Yowza!  They both have the greatest sense of humor!

John and Janelle said, "I DO".

Hi Friends! John and Janelle tied the knot on Saturday in a beautiful ceremony and fun, beautiful reception!  John and Janelle have been in previous weddings that I have photographed so they were not strangers to me, nor was their wedding party. I felt like I was photographing friends because I've seen them at previous weddings.  We had some weather challenges in the morning and had to shoot exclusively inside the church. During mass the sun came out and Janelle was able to have the outside photos that she has dreamed about for so long.  Yeah!

THANKS a million to John and Janelle, their families and friends for the great day. I love my job so much and am always appreciative of warm, kind people  to spend my entire Saturday with. 

John and Janelle, I wish you a wonderful life together!  You're off to a great start!

This coming weekend I am heading to Fort Wayne to celebrate with Jeff and Janna.  I can't wait to share their special day with them. They've got a really neat story that I'll share with you next time.

Family Pictures - Graber and Reynolds

Hello friends! I just posted some sweet pictures of two families. The Reynolds Family was here yesterday for their family photo and also for their sweet 2 year old sons photo shoot.  He has the bluest eyes you've ever seen and is oh-so adorable.  Their pictures are on the left. You'll love the bubble pictures of their son Gideon. So sweet!!

Last Thursday I photographed the Graber family. I'm just a little biased toward them because they are my family. At my wedding people called them, "the beautiful family". It's true. They are a family of 4 who has opened their home for the past 3 years to exchange students from across the globe. This year they were blessed to have Sabrina in their home.  From what I heard it was a sad goodbye on Monday.  =( Enjoy their photos.  I love photographing this special family.  They are beautiful inside and out!

This weekend I am celebrating with John and Janelle down in Portland. They have been planning their wedding for a long time and I know they are excited to be married.  Janelle has been a bridesmaid in a couple of my weddings in the past. It will be wonderful to celebrate with her as the BRIDE! =)

Baby Grant and my email change

Ahhhhhhhhhhh.... isn't this the sweetest baby? Yesterday baby Grant came for his 3 month photo. I am friends with his mom, Janelle and of course was really glad to photograph her sweet boy. SO CUTE!  Be looking for his album later this week. 

I have a new email address! As some of you know we live in the woods and have only had access to dial up. But, I've got a broadband aircard now and have a much better connection!  You have no idea how this frees up my time by being able to work faster.

SO.......... my new email is amysphoto8285@gmail.com . If you have me in your address book please update that info. Now I have the task of contacting everyone who has the other email and letting them know of the change.

Erin and Adam tied the knot!

  Pardon me for sounding like a broken record........ but........... I photographed the most beautiful couple on Saturday!  Erin and Adam and their families were all so wonderful to work with.  It rained just a little in the morning but in the afternoon we had the most glorious sky to photograph under which created some beautiful shots of the bride and groom and the FUN wedding party!   I can't wait to get their photos sorted through and share my favorites with you.  You will love reading their Meet the Newlyweds information. They got together in such a cute way.  =)  It was kind of a 'check yes or no' deal in high school.

I can't say thank-you enough to the Bride and Groom and their family and friends for making my job so easy!  Much love to you all.  Amy

Brent and Shannon - Engagement

Good Morning. I just added Brent and Shannon's engagement pictures from Tuesday. What a sweet couple.  I am looking forward to their Fall wedding!  Shannon booked me at a bridal show this year and was also the winner of my door prize at that show.  Fun!

Jennifer and Armando are Mr. and Mrs.

It has been a busy week here at Amy's Photography. I have several albums to put on this week.  First and foremost are Jennifer and Armando's wedding photos. They were married Saturday at the Golf Dome in Fort Wayne.  We did most of their photos at the Botanical Gardens that afternoon while it rained outside.  They are on their honeymoon in Florida - having fun I'm sure.

Sweet little Grace came yesterday morning for her 2 year photo shoot. I have been so lucky to have photographed this BEAUTIFUL girl since she was a tiny baby. Yesterday afternoon I shot Senior Pictures and family pictures. This morning I had one engagement session and now I'm editing for 2 days. 

 I had someone tell me the other day that they wouldn't want my job.  I can't imagine having any other job than being a photographer.  A few months ago Oprah had a show on tv about how so many people are unhappy in their careers but they just keep doing the same thing inspite of being miserable.  I felt so blessed when I saw that show because I know that I am doing exactly what I should be.  I love capturing memories for people.

Senior Picture Time!

 

It's that time of year when Seniors start coming to take part in my early bird special.  Jessica was my frist Sr. on Wednesday morning. She is a doll.  She is so pretty and also engaged!  I also took she and Christopher's engagement pictures that morning.  Look for their albums on the left side.  I am looking forward to meeting a lot of really great Seniors again this year.  It's a special time of life for these young adults.  I'm honored to be able to meet them and learn a little about each person.

Tomorrow I am celebrating with Armando and Jennifer at their wedding in Fort Wayne. I am looking forward to being with this beautiful couple and capturing their day.  I know it will great!

Brian and Megan took the plunge!!! (Literally.)

WOW! What an incredible day for Megan and Brian.  I can't say enough about how much fun they were. Their wedding party was awesome, their guests were awesome and the families were so welcoming and gracious to me.  There were people at their wedding from all over the country. There were folks from W. VA, OH, TN, N.C. and FL and of course IN. 

Brian had recently served our country in Iraq and was so happy to see family at the wedding that he had not seen in years.  It was fun seeing the look on his face when he saw his surprise guests.

Megan's bridesmaids were a riot. Anna (a.k.a. Tiffany - for her fondness of Tiffany jewelry) was a friend from out of state and had me laughing so hard. The rest of the wedding party was amazing and were willing to do whatever poses I wanted.

Which brings me to the "Trash the Dress" segment.  There is a trend in wedding photography that I have never ever done. But... today the couple seemed like the right couple and the fact that there was a pool at the reception site made it oh-so tempting to do a series of pool shots. Megan and Brian were willing, I was pumped and the guests looked on as they took the plunge into the pool.  Now, if this is your first time to my site please don't think I am crazy enough to even think about suggesting this to every couple. No way!   But I couldn't resist with this pair and the fact that it was a hot day, an outside reception and the pool was RIGHT THERE!    Anna had to follow suit with a jump into the pool also.  For more information on this crazy trend go to www.trashthedress.com.

Izzy's impromtu Cinderella Session

I had quite the photo session with Izzy last night and had to share some of the shots with you. After a long day I was cleaning up my kitchen and watching a DVD that I received at a conference recently. It was showing how to do "Cinderella Sessions".  Izzy was watching the DVD from the loft (without me realizing she was even paying attention). Suddenly she got the idea that she wanted her picture taken. Now, this is quite a big deal because it is like pulling teeth to photograph my own children without funny faces being made etc.  She was so intrigued about the DVD that she wanted to do a session. She picked out a dress, we curled her hair, painted her nails and ended up with these photos. I was thrilled.  I'll post them in her Izzy album later and also add some new pictures of Cooper as well. He RUNS when he sees the camera but I look forward to the day when he volunteers to do pictures.
